How to Use Shipduo Accounts

Shipduo isn't just a shipping dashboard — it's also a third-party logistics provider (3PL). That means Shipduo has its own negotiated account numbers with major small parcel carriers and LTL freight carriers, and those discounted rates are made available to every Shipduo account automatically.
You don't have to sign contracts with carriers, hit volume minimums, or set anything up. The moment you log in, Shipduo's competitive rates are ready to use. And if you already have your own carrier accounts or work with other 3PLs, you can connect those too — so you always see every option side by side and pick the cheapest rate for each shipment.
This article explains what Shipduo accounts are, where to find the rates, and how to add your own.

What Are Shipduo Accounts?

A Shipduo account is a carrier account that Shipduo has already negotiated on your behalf as a 3PL. These cover both:

  • Small parcel carriers (for shipments under ~70 lbs)
  • LTL freight carriers (for heavier, palletized shipments)

Because Shipduo books high volume across all of its customers, it secures rates that are typically lower than what an individual business could negotiate alone. These rates are turned on by default for your account — no configuration required.

💡 Tip: Shipduo accounts and your own accounts can live side by side. You're never locked into one source of rates.

Step 1: See Your Built-In Shipduo Rates

Shipduo's own rates appear automatically anywhere you request pricing in the dashboard. The fastest way to see them is Quick Quotes.

  1. From the left menu, click Quick Quotes.
  2. Choose LTL or Small Parcel at the top.
  3. Enter your pickup ZIP, delivery ZIP, and shipment details.
  4. Click View Rates.

Shipduo will return a list of available rates. Any rate sourced from a Shipduo-negotiated account is included automatically, alongside any of your own connected accounts — so you can compare price, transit time, and service level all in one place.

You'll also see these same rates whenever you ship an order. On the Orders page, each order shows a Your Rates column and a Ship button — clicking through surfaces all available rates, including Shipduo's.

Step 2: Check Rates with the Public Calculator

If you'd like to preview Shipduo's competitive rates before logging in — for example, to estimate a quote or compare against what you pay today — use the public rate calculator.

  1. Go to shipduo.com/calculator.
  2. Enter your shipment details (origin, destination, weight, and dimensions).
  3. Review the estimated rates.

💡 Tip: The calculator is a great way to sanity-check potential savings before you start booking shipments in the dashboard.

Step 3: Connect Your Own Accounts or Other 3PLs (Optional)

Want to compare Shipduo's rates against your own negotiated accounts — or rates from another 3PL? You can add them so every option shows up in one place.

  1. From the left menu, click Integrations.
  2. Switch between the LTL and Small Parcel tabs to find the carrier you want.
  3. Locate the carrier card (for example, SAIA, ABF, FedEx Freight, XPO, Estes, etc.).
  4. Click Connect on that carrier.
  5. Enter your account number and credentials when prompted, then save.

Once connected, the carrier card shows as Active with the number of configurations attached.

💡 Tip: Connecting your own accounts doesn't replace Shipduo's rates — it adds to them. The more accounts you connect, the more options you can compare on every shipment.

Step 4: Always Pick the Cheapest Rate

With Shipduo accounts on by default and any of your own accounts connected, every quote shows all available rates together. For each shipment you can:

  • Compare price, transit time, and service level across all accounts at once.
  • Choose the Shipduo rate when it's lowest (it often is).
  • Choose your own account when you've negotiated something better for a specific lane.

There's no need to decide up front — just pick the best rate at the moment you book.

Troubleshooting

  • Not seeing any rates? Make sure your shipment details (ZIP codes, weight, dimensions) are filled in completely. Missing fields can prevent carriers from returning a rate.
  • Want to confirm Shipduo accounts are active? Shipduo rates are enabled by default — if you don't see them, reach out to support to confirm your account status.
  • Connected your own carrier but it's not showing? Check that the carrier card on the Integrations page reads Active and shows at least 1 configuration. Re-enter your credentials if it failed to connect.
